US Sued for Blocking International Editing
Almost a year ago I blogged the US Treasury export control rules being used to prevent publishers from editing certain foreign manuscripts.
I’m happy to report that a group of publishers are (finally) suing to end curbs on editing. They deserve to win.

Yes, they do. I could see an argument for limiting access to U.S. published information of a scientific nature in a country, if we were at war with them, but there's simply no logic to be found in limiting the review of scientific theories and data coming out of any country in the world even were we at war with them, unless our goal is more stagnation and bad intelligence...
