Amazing. I would almost buy one just to have it. The truth is, though, I don’t need it: I’ve almost given up recording movies I’m not getting around to watch.
Specs: Fanless, USB3 external drive, $149.99, free shipping. Not tiny, not the fastest, but it has a 3 year warranty.
Still, three Terrabytes. I remember when 1.2M 3.5″ rigid “floppy disks” seemed a huge advance over 360K/640K floppy disks. In fact I still have some of each in a closet.

Bought one as a Time Machine backup drive in 2011 and another for off-site backup in December 2012. No, I probably don’t need that much, either.
And yes, I still have a pile (stored in a zip-lock bag) of soft sectored 360K floppies. And another pile of even older hard sectored floppies from my Vector Graphic MZ. Which was still running last time I powered it up…. But without an Internet/Ethernet/what-have-you for those old systems, I have no good way to get the data off them.
People on Amazon complain that the connectors break off easily on that model, so take care unplugging it!
Saw problems with 2TB, hadn’t seen bad reviews of 3TB. Anyway, it’s now down to $129.99, as they’ve come out with 4TB for

Just keeps dropping. Actual machine prices don’t seem to be hitting that curve anymore. But next time I’d probably hold out the 1G ethernet connector, which will hopefully be 10G by the time I want another. 😉
