McCain/Palin Ticket Not Appealing to Our Better Natures

Dana Millbank Unleashed, Palin Makes a Pit Bull Look Tame at the Washington Post:

Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric's questions for her “less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media.” At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, “Sit down, boy.”

'Attaturk' at Eschaton summarizes it brilliantly:

McCain/Palin taking off the gloves hoods

It will only get uglier if they get more desperate.

So who wants to argue that the celebrity ad was not hard core klan style racism now?

McCain has been doing this crap for months. The only difference is that the press has stopped giving him the benefit of the doubt as there no longer is any. McCain is running a hard core racist campaign just like he did at the start of his career when he was opposing MLK day to pander to the racist vote.

The Obama people have played their hand brilliantly. They kept the Keating powder dry till the moment it would do the most harm. I don’t see the McCain smears getting much mainstream media traction but the Keating video is working.

McCain is getting desperate because the media no longer respond to his stunts and some of them are even prepared to take on his absurd POW talking points. Since when was becoming a POW proof of being an honorable man? Many more soliders suffered more than John McCain who offered to give military secrets in return for hospital treatment. It may be an understandable choice, but it does not qualify him for the Presidency.

Looks to me as if McCain is facing losing Ohio, Florida and Virginia at this point. Whether he loses the race or not he has already lost the respect of the press and of all the Democrats he claims he would work with in a bipartisan fashion.

Sorry that this is off topic, but does it bother anyone else that Brokaw is wearing one of those yellow bracelets while moderating? That is a political statement. Lance Armstrong makes me think of Bush. He is close friends w/ Bush. The moderator of the debate should not be wearing that yellow bracelet, even if it is supposed to make you think about caner, when it makes people like me think about Armstrong’s associations w/ Bush. And there have been close up shots of that freaking bracelet.

  3. The whole thing just gives me one big headache.
