Recent Bluessky Posts- There was a student note in the Harvard Law review a few years ago which proposed chopping up the District of Columbia up into a very large number of states. Actually legally feasible compared to some other things people suggest. August 1, 2026 Michael Froomkin
- I read that note. It's clever but the solution to a terrible small-d democratic deficit is not to make it much worse, Cf. papers.ssrn.com/abstract=379... August 1, 2026 Michael Froomkin

- For our mega-survey on populist attitudes, we asked whether people would prefer a more multi-party system or a two-party system. The former blew the latter out of the water. Asked about specific reforms to get there, people are less sure. Also, Trump populists are the most fond of the status quo. July 31, 2026 Andy Craig

This Week’s Hot T-Shirt

I love political tshirts. I’m ordering one in addition to the 10 obama yard signs I just ordered after someone stole mine from my front yard.
Don’t worry howie it appears you are not alone…

Carly,
well, i was worried enough that i reported it to the police. someone slashed 8 tires on my partner’s and my cars about a year ago we believe because we had antiwar stickers on our cars. i’ve had nasty notes left on my car windshield many times in miami telling me to take my stickers off and that i am antiamerican for having them. i won’t be intimidated by this latest incident w/ the sign, but i hope it doesn’t lead to more tire slashings…because it costs me a lot of money. i’ve had other friends in miami who have had their tires slashed because of progressive stickers too. it sucks people have to be like that.
