I called Senator Feinstein’s office. Before issuing a statement, she wants to see the exact language of the submitted bill. Is it too much to ask that our senators make unequivocal statements that they will not vote for torture in any form, that the US is not a country that tortures. It’s embarassing that even the Senators that will oppose this bill, feel that there has to be some kind of nuanced debate. Call your Senator and ask for such a no loophole statement and see what they say. For the record, Boxer’s office was open to the idea even though they have nothing out yet.
