A Simple Question from ‘Texans for Truth’

We know that nobody ever came forward to claim the $10,000 reward offered “If you personally witnessed George W. Bush reporting for drills at Dannelly Air National Guard Base between the months of May and November of 1972”. But how come no one has ever asked GW himself if he can name one person he trained with? That's what Texans for Truth wants to know. And they have a slick ad featuring Robert Mintz, who served in Alabama's 187th Air National Guard during the period that Lt. Bush perfected the art of invisibility.

I can name people I worked with in summer jobs 20 years ago (30 years ago I was in high school — I can probably name just about everyone in my 100 person class, but that's hardly a fair comparison)—can't GW name just one or two he trained with?

Asking Bush to name a fellow TANGer could be informative.

Asking Bush to name a friend he lost in Viet Nam would be better, and more pointed. It’s a blind spot in his past – didn’t everyone in that generation lose a friend in ‘Nam? Everyone, that is, unless they were well-connected rich kids who didn’t get out of their narrow social circles much. THAT would get a bigger point across – that Bush was fundamentally insulated and disconnected from reality then (like now).

THE FRONT PAGE OF THE PALMDALE, CA, MAY 19, 2003, VALLEY PRESS NEWSPAPER,
SHOWS A PICTURE OF PRESIDENT BUSH WEARING USAF “SENIOR” PILOTS WINGS ON
HIS FLIGHT JACKET WHILE ABOARD THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER. AS A RETIRED AIR FORCE
PILOT AND PAST PRESIDENT OF THE WESTERN P-47 PILOTS SOCIETY, I FIND THIS
    ACTION OUTRAGES.

I find it so ironic that as much scrutiny as Senator Kerry experienced over his documented and heroic Vietnam War records, newly discovered Vietnam War-era records from the Texas Air National Guard/Air Force clearly show President Bush, then 1st Lieutenant Bush, clearly shirking duty to his country and trying to play his connections to avoid military service. The newly revealed records even show he abandoned his unit in Texas and missed a key physical which resulted in the loss of his flight status. What a joke!
