- I gather that Trump's name came off the Kennedy Center after the courts rejected the ridiculous 11th hour attempt (unhinged brief not signed by career lawyers) to block it, but the work was done behind a tarp to block the cameras. Missed opportunity to sell tickets; might have raised real money. June 13, 2026 Michael Froomkin
- Seen at MIA in the TSA departures queue, this invitation to 'self-deport' in exchange for a $1000 per person and a free flight. Although I recall reading they don't necessarily deliver. In any case a sour taste for the start of international travel. June 13, 2026 Michael Froomkin
- In a strange way you almost could admire the Trumpies' leave-no-stone-unturned approach to graft. There is really no bottom. No limit. And justice is at best slow. June 12, 2026 Michael Froomkin

yeah, yeah fox news but nobody else wants to report that the extent of water boarding has been grossly exaggerated:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/04/28/despite-reports-khalid-sheikh-mohammed-waterboarded-times/
i know its an inconvenient truth among rabid bush haters that frequent this blog, but truth nonetheless. talk amongst yourselves.
It is a binary count: the choices are “zero” or “criminally many”. The rest is details.
Having to listen to a UM law professor’s lecture once or twice a week for one hour is unpleasant but not torture. Having to listen to a UM law professor’s lecture for 24 hours straight for 24 days will drive anyone insane.
Same goes for waterboarding, Chinese water drop torture, pushing, shoving, insects, yelling, loud music, temperature changes, etc.
Looks like your prosecutions are going nowhere fast. Truth is a b*tch, ain’t it?
hmm,
Sixty-some years ago, the U.S. established a clear legal precedent of what is the appropriate legal remedy for waterboarding: Death by Hanging.
How unfortunate for Dick Cheney and his cronies that the U.S. never joined civilized nations in banning capital punishment.
Which makes me wonder just how much Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al. are spending from their own personal fortunes to fund this multimedia F.U.D. campaign?
“Which makes me wonder just how much Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al. are spending from their own personal fortunes to fund this multimedia F.U.D. campaign?”
Probably not as much as Obama’s campaign spent on its multimedia F.U.D. campaign to convince you that Obama had no association with Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, et. al. and to convince you the man has any other skill or ability other than to read from a teleprompter.
I’m sure Eric Holder will tell Obama to pardon them anyway. So really your time is better spent worrying about gay marriage and global warming.
dang,
that’s low quality trolling, that is.
Convince me of what? Where I’m at, we considered Rev. Wright and Professor Ayers to be civic institutions before the rest of youse even heard about Obama.
And even if Obama’s only skill was reading from a teleprompter, you’d have to admit he’s one up on the last guy.
This is the Troll Police. We have reports about some substandard trolling at this site. Please step away from your keyboard!
The torture was all done according to strict rules, as everyone knows. Each pour of water had to be recorded.
The max for waterboarding is/was 200 times per month. If you get that far you get a free plushy!!
Just some frat-boy hijinxs, you know. It would be such a shame to put people in jail over it.
Too bad that is precisely what is going to happen. I will not hold my breath for the pardons predicted above. I did get a good laugh out of that, though.
