Quick Query

Why can’t I get to www.talkingpointsmemo.com or www.talkleft.com? They have been timing out for more than an hour…. DOS attack? Shared server?

(Hey, I can wifi on the plane!)

Half my blogroll is inaccessible, but they're of both left- and right-wing orientation. I could access Marshall and Drum earlier in the day, but they're both gone. I can't get Instapundit either, or Michael Totten.

Dunno what's up.

TalkingPoints is back, their servers died. Instapundit is available again too, and says that high traffic is to blame.

It's sad that DoS attacks have been around since the early 2000s and we still can't get good enough border routers to deal with the problem.

FYI here's what K Drum says:

"BLOG TRAFFIC....Quick note: a lot of blogs are hard to reach today. I don't think it's a DOS attack or anything like that, it's just very heavy traffic. Mine is running about double its highest ever, for example.

So if you can't get through, just try, try again.

I haven't been able to get to wonkette.com for a while.

The .blogspot. sites have problems when traffic is heavy. Access is sporadic, just keep trying.
Atrios, General J. C. Christian, Digby, Fafblog, Island of Balta, Legal Fiction, Shrill Blog, etc. Josh Marshall is hard to reach also.

Wi-fi on the plane? What airline?

Posted by: jason wolf at November 3, 2004 08:32 AM

How insightful, HonestAbe, I guess a true republican makes sure to limit their sources of information only to those right-leaning and previously identified as such...nothing better than a platform that requires ignorance of the facts as a first premise.

The wifi on the plane was spillover from the airport, not native to the aiplane. ( I wish.)
