Why can’t I get to www.talkingpointsmemo.com or www.talkleft.com? They have been timing out for more than an hour…. DOS attack? Shared server?
(Hey, I can wifi on the plane!)
Half my blogroll is inaccessible, but they're of both left- and right-wing orientation. I could access Marshall and Drum earlier in the day, but they're both gone. I can't get Instapundit either, or Michael Totten.
Dunno what's up.
Posted by: double-plus-ungood at November 2, 2004 04:43 PMTalkingPoints is back, their servers died. Instapundit is available again too, and says that high traffic is to blame.
Posted by: double-plus-ungood at November 2, 2004 05:21 PMIt's sad that DoS attacks have been around since the early 2000s and we still can't get good enough border routers to deal with the problem.
Posted by: Greg at November 2, 2004 05:27 PMFYI here's what K Drum says:
"BLOG TRAFFIC....Quick note: a lot of blogs are hard to reach today. I don't think it's a DOS attack or anything like that, it's just very heavy traffic. Mine is running about double its highest ever, for example.
So if you can't get through, just try, try again.

Posted by: Skip at November 2, 2004 05:44 PMI haven't been able to get to wonkette.com for a while.
Posted by: UM 1L at November 2, 2004 06:02 PMThe .blogspot. sites have problems when traffic is heavy. Access is sporadic, just keep trying.
Atrios, General J. C. Christian, Digby, Fafblog, Island of Balta, Legal Fiction, Shrill Blog, etc. Josh Marshall is hard to reach also.
Heavy traffic. I've gotten on Talking Points and other blogs, inc. mydd.
MichaelBerube.com too. Message says the account has been suspended.
Posted by: Barry Freed at November 2, 2004 08:26 PMI see you are supporters of Kerry and I have only one thing to add. God help Amerika (on purpose) if that back sliding wishywashy son of a bitch gets in. Thats all
Wi-fi on the plane? What airline?
Posted by: jason wolf at November 3, 2004 08:32 AMHow insightful, HonestAbe, I guess a true republican makes sure to limit their sources of information only to those right-leaning and previously identified as such...nothing better than a platform that requires ignorance of the facts as a first premise.
Posted by: Christopher Chopin at November 3, 2004 09:19 AMThe wifi on the plane was spillover from the airport, not native to the aiplane. ( I wish.)
