More Hersh, More News of Iraq Atrocities

A Tiny Revolution: Uh Oh quotes Seymour Hersh speaking at Berkeley last Friday, October 8th:

I got a call last week from a soldier — it's different now, a lot of communication, 800 numbers. He's an American officer and he was in a unit halfway between Baghdad and the Syrian border. It's a place where we claim we've done great work at cleaning out the insurgency. He was a platoon commander. First lieutenant, ROTC guy.

It was a call about this. He had been bivouacing outside of town with his platoon. It was near, it was an agricultural area, and there was a granary around. And the guys that owned the granary, the Iraqis that owned the granary… It was an area that the insurgency had some control, but it was very quiet, it was not Fallujah. It was a town that was off the mainstream. Not much violence there. And his guys, the guys that owned the granary, had hired, my guess is from his language, I wasn't explicit — we're talking not more than three dozen, thirty or so guards. Any kind of work people were dying to do. So Iraqis were guarding the granary. His troops were bivouaced, they were stationed there, they got to know everybody…

They were a couple weeks together, they knew each other. So orders came down from the generals in Baghdad, we want to clear the village, like in Samarra. And as he told the story, another platoon from his company came and executed all the guards, as his people were screaming, stop. And he said they just shot them one by one. He went nuts, and his soldiers went nuts. And he's hysterical. He's totally hysterical. And he went to the captain. He was a lieutenant, he went to the company captain. And the company captain said, “No, you don't understand. That's a kill. We got thirty-six insurgents.”

George W. Bush is responsible for this. Don't forget that. George Bush is reponsible for this. As much as the individuals who pulled the triggers, George W. Bush is responsible for this.

make the american people aware of what is going on. bush only speaks in lies and generalities and the sad part about that is the 50% of americans who believe his every word.
bush should go down in history with the likes of hitler, lenin and other similar criminals.

I’m watching the last debate, and I’m listening to some of the definitely “off-topic” questions the moderator feels are necessary…like “Do youthink being gay is a choice?”
What has thatto do with healthcare, Iraq, the unemployment rate (effectively, according to all experts now at 9.4% counting those receiving unemployment, those who are part-time employed andthose who have given up) And the myriad of other issues that are sALIENT issues, NOT sociological abstracts.
I suggest that all of you read the book “FRAUD” written by Paul Waldman, who is a well-respected political analyst. As yet I haven’t seen a bulge on Bush’s back. But then Bush is falling back on his repetitive banging the drum. He believes ..and sadly it is born out…that if you say something often enough, people believe it is true.

As to the Iraq horror story recounted above, my brother was a Green Beret killed in Viet Nam. Before he was killed he wrote to us and sent tapes telling us of his disappointment over the war, how we didn’tbelong there and that it was a nightmare destroying the country, that it was a civil war and a peaceable people. Such travesties of morality are a cost of war. And a burden on the souls of the soldiers who abhor such horrors. And they are and will be an indelible stain on the souls of Americans.
IN Iraq already I suspect, and news stories are bearing out the fact, that the brainwashing our soldiers have been subjected to, misguided and deceptive, causes them to set aside common sense good judgment their parents no doubt tried to instill in them. Think before you act. All life is sacred. Take a life as the last resort. But these soldiers are in fact very young. Their life experience is limited. It takes a while to develop discernment. Then again, they are not seeing very good examples in that so many voters seem to be inclined to accept the “whole cloth” the Bush facade has been constructed from rather than do their own investigation to get to the truth that has been concealed from the American public regarding the convert actions of the White House.
Bush says no draft. I watched CNN the nextday, and to my shock, the bill to reinstate the draft has already been introduced and –this time—was voted down. Interestingly, the right to “Draft” certain healthcare and technical personnel was established several years ago, ( I saw that while trolling the website “http://9-11Review.org)

Further,I believe that FEMA allows the President to declare a state of emergency and that Congress cannot VOTE to rescind it for SIX MONTHS. ANd that the groundwork for that is being laid right now.
The draft will be presented again when the dowward trend of enlistment continues, which it will. After all, who wants to die for Iraqi oil fields in order to have them parcelled out to the billion dollar oil companies so that the stockholders of these companies can get higher returns for their investments for which, by the way, capital gains taxes were repealed by this administration?
    What a coincidence.
Bush had much to say about Saddam’s “food for oil” program.

Well, he has developed his own program, tailored by and for special interest groups.

    I call it

    “LIVES FOR OIL.”

IT IS OUR OWN, THE LIVES OF OUR OWN YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN, THAT ARE BEING SACRIFICED.

TO support this program, Bush’s administration has decided that the lives of our youth are “acceptable losses” in the pursuit of Bush’s new program.

I wish that Bush had actually been made to participate in the Viet Nam war instead of playing pilot, protecting all the good people in Corpus Christi from communist domination. Perhaps –doubtful, given other interests which will benefit–but perhaps had he availed himself of that opportunity to get out all his teen-age aggressions, we would not be stumbling through a war that WILL, mark my words, turn into another VIET NAM if Bush is re-elected.
I have read on another website that the administration has ALREADY developed a plan to attack Iran in a “coordinated attack” with Israel. Why does that not surprise me. It was said that the plan was to do this before the election 2004.

And the beat of this wardrum goes on.

My first reaction was that 9-11 was a monumental deception. (Check out the Prentagon articles.)
I could not squelch uncomfortable thoughts. My first reaction was a single thought, “FDR and Pearl Harbor. I swear)
I saw that all of a sudden Bush was on top of the world. When he decided to redirect and attack Saddam instead of going after bin Laden, he raised his arm upward in a gesture of exhilaration and said, ” Feels good.” I was appalled at this enthusiastic dispatch of our young people to Iraq and into harm’s way.

I wondered that NTSB investigations on these attacks were never done by this agency, but turned over to the FBI. If you go to the FBI site and search: Nothing.

    The truth will emerge eventually.

But will it happen soon enough?
