I need a better answer than “DeSantis”….

  1. Eric says:

“Intelligent” is the opposite of the word “woke”

  2. C.E. Petit says:

The opposite of “woke” is clearly “comatose.” Which, regarding anything requiring “awareness of current race relations,” seems all too appropriate.

Unfortunately, a troll got here first.

  3. Eric says:

There is a difference between the absurdly overused and trite word “woke” and the ability to understand that the human race is inherently evil regardless of a particular demographic.

    Clearly you are woke.

    • C.E. Petit says:

No, I am a social justice warrior. By definition. I swore to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, more than four decades ago. Even before then, I had read the Fourteenth Amendment… and if that’s not a foundation for social justice, I don’t know what could be. (It certainly wouldn’t be anything purportedly based on That Book, the “old” part or the “new” one.)

And I got my butt shot at as a social justice warrior, in part by members of regimes seeking the opposite of social justice.

I thus find the accusation that I’m merely “woke” somewhat… somnabulent. Unaware. Oblivious. Jahil.

      • Eric says:

The foundation of social justice is ornithology.

Humanity might learn something by studying the birds.

All things considered they represent the best we can do.

        • Vic says:

Birds strictly enforce sameness. Birds in a flock physically (and literally) pick on and ostracize birds that don’t look the same. Sometimes quite violently. It is a basic characteristic of birds. (And I don’t know if you’ve ever seen a Mallard gang rape.)

As the demand for conformity, under threat of physical violence, is also a condition found in the modern illiberal left in regards to thinking, I doubt you actually want that.

          • Eric says:

I want everyone to be happy but reality creates insurmountable obstacles to building utopia.

After feeding the birds in my own backyard and the surrounding area for the last few years, I have determined that the survival instinct makes that impossible.

Life is an inherent contradiction and I want out of this nightmare already.

            • Vic says:

Correct. Now you can divest yourself of the old idea that political parties and elections make any difference or even matter. Who is running things is not decided nor controlled by us anymore. I don’t know how long that’s been true (probably many decades), but it’s all in the open now. Michael will never face that fact, he’s too caught up in believing the charade. It is indeed a base fight for survival. As George Carlin noted, Washington is a club, and you ain’t in it.

Wokeness is just the secret handshake that allows you into the Potemkin ante-room of the ante-room of the club.
