I was in Ireland when Brexit was a hot topic. My friends and the people I met on the street were saying that Brexit was a repudiation of the Good Friday Agreement. Its hard to underestimate how strongly these feelings ran. The only thing I can compare it to is my Cuban grandparents’ feelings towards the Castro regime. The anger was real, and it was eye opening.
I suppose its easy to forget that the Troubles were only settled about 22 years ago, and that the college aged rock thrower of the mid/late 1990s is today’s 40something voter.
