Team Obama Hires Joe Garcia

Generation Miami says Joe Garcia joins the Obama Administration. Subject to Senate confirmation, he’ll head the Office of Minority Economic Impact for the Department of Energy.

Joe’s a real smart guy, with energy experience, so I imagine it’s a good fit.

What on earth do we need an Office of Minority Economic Impact for the Department of Energy? Really?

The Department of Energy was started by Carter to wean the United States off foreign energy. It has completely failed at this mission and just serves as another vehicle to distribute government cheese (i.e. stimulus) to politically connected businesses.

Instead of rectifying this, we have an office to make sure minorities get to share in the graft? How depressing.
