No More Puffers

According to An Airport Screening Program Is Killed, the government is scrapping the airport “puffers” that were supposed to suck in air from your body and analyze for minute traces of Bad Things.

Seems they cost too much, don’t really work, and break down all the time.

That's some pretty impressive technology, shame it was plagued with problems. I have seen these in use, although didn't get to test my breath!

It seems they're replacing them with some kind of spinning x-ray booth that looks both more cumbersome and more expensive.
