    What is “G-d”?

Are you that brainwashed by Political Correctness?

I like the one about just being old enough to remember life before the internet. lol Makes me feel a little old. I first “saw” the internet in 1992. I was stationed in Alaska with the AF. I remember thinking, “That is completely worthless.”

    :O)

Oh, that’s okay. In 1992 it probably was kind of worthless if you weren’t an academic. In the late 1980s I was working for a small OS firm in Berkeley and I remember going down to the South Bay, driving by the Cisco offices, and wondering why anybody would buy a router when it was so trivial to build one. So there went my gazillionaireship.

BTW, these days a lot of top engineers are doing stuff like extreme sports and Ironman and whatnot. so the “healthy engineers are on the second string” stuff might be kind of superannuated. People who spent the 1980s trying to find more digits in pi are now avid heli-skiers and whatnot.

  4. Michael says:

He wasn’t saying that healthy engineers were second string, but rather that there’s a perception that the engineers hired by HMOs and other health vendors were second string.
