Last Day to Submit Claims For Excess Fees on Foreign Credit Card Transactions

Today is the last day to file a claim online (or have one postmarked) in the In re Currency Conversion Fee Antitrust Litigation (MDL 1409) case. You are a member of the plaintiff class if you used a Visa, Master Card and/or Diners Club credit or debit card abroad between Feb 1, 1996 and Nov. 8, 2006.

(See I Am A Plaintiff for more details.)

I took option two, having calculated that I was abroad for 394 days during the relevant period. That’s a lot of days.

You were abroad for over 1 year in 10? Wow. All business or pleasure?

A combination of business (as well as foreign conferences, I've served on a couple of international committees that had a lot of meetings), pleasure (back when the dollar was strong), and in-laws (which you may categorize as you wish).

Yeah, I'm thinking that a lot of people took option 2 and we're all about to get screwED.

Wow, I'd forgotten all about it - I took option 2 and have heard nothing since. Will I ever?

I filed option 2 back in December and haven't heard a word since. I called them in June and was told I should hear something in the next few months. Considering the amount of money the attorneys stand to make, you'd think they would be a little more ambitious.
