Bush Says Election Ratified Iraq Policy (washingtonpost.com)

President Bush said the public’s decision to reelect him was a ratification of his approach toward Iraq and that there was no reason to hold any administration officials accountable for mistakes or misjudgments in prewar planning or managing the violent aftermath.

You missed the best line:

"We had an accountability moment, and that's called the 2004 elections," Bush said in an interview with The Washington Post.

An accountability MOMENT! That's all he's willing to suffer! One single moment of accountability.

That must be that end-timer thing again. Judgment day. That's it. Actions have no consequences except there.

WTF does it take to get someone fired by these people?

I hate to say this, but when he's right he's right. Bush made it crystal clear in the debates and elsewhere that in his view he had made no mistakes whatsoever in his first term, and that if elected no one would be held accountable (except of course those who hadn't fully supported him). If a majority of the American public had objected, he would not now be in office.

Answer: Disloyalty to the Kingpriest, telling the truth, competence, a generous spirit.

By the Shrub's logic, if the electorate had voted that pi=3 or 2+2=5, than that would be that.

Hey, the bible says pi=3. Are you questioning the word of the Lord? That's treason! Because God said Bush is president, and God says pi=3, so pi must be three! I'm calling Homeland Security on you, John. See you in Gitmo.

(All of this is OT): Damn, Paul--good one! So why isn't the pi question being dealt with by the religious wingnuts? Clearly schools should be offering "biblical algebra," along with "creation science."

Evolution isn't the only heresy being taught in our schools, because there is also the Satanic pi corrupting the faith of our youth. This is one Landover Baptist Church should post a sermon on!

This notion of a mandate is just...well...it's living in a bubble.

Here is a self proclaimed and media proclaimed "war president" that was barely able to get better than 51% of the vote against a Liberal from the Northeast...and a MA Liberal at that. That's a mandate??? No, that's the definition of "the skin of your teeth.

Keep pointing out who lives in the bubble and what its symptoms are.

Good blogging, and happy sipping,

51% of American voters believe torture is good, mass slaughter of innocents is good, and that pathological liars make good politicians.
