Pam Bondi Video

If the polls are to be believed, the state of Florida is gearing up to elect a dog-napper as its state Attorney General instead of Dan Gelber, the sane candidate endorsed by most newspapers in the state. In the hopes of heading this off, the state Democratic Party has prepared a short video about Pam Bondi and the St. Bernards: The Real Pam Bondi

The only vaguely hopeful part of this story is that suggestion that undecideds break the way of newspaper editorials in down-ticket races. But I'm not feeling confident that it will be enough.

You know, I can’t remember having seen even one ad by any candidate that said “Hi, I’m so-and-so, and here’s what I believe and want to do if elected.” I think maybe Meek had one a long time back, but ALL of them that you see now are all about how the opponant is a criminal deserving of life at Devil’s Island.

The campaigns have become SO negative and so filled with over-the-top righteous indignation that I don’t even care anymore. Not ONE of these people actually deserves to win at this point – unfortunately, some of them will. It doesn’t even matter who runs anymore. Who wins will just be a matter of how many people from a particular party get out and bother to vote. It’s just a numbers game now. Like many things in life, “deserve” no longer has anything to do with it.

Has Florida politics really descended to this level?

Vic, I understand. The problem is that the electorate does not appreciate a cerebral contest. Dan Gelber has been willing to debate the very important issues affecting our state for 50 days now.

Bondi has run away from the opportunity to debate the issues. I am sure you did not see her debate the issues because Bondi refused to do so.

Go to http://www.pambondi.co (not a typo) to see her run from a debate and/or an interview.

She is not a good candidate, nor is she is respectful eprson, she does not respect the voter, she has not allowed us to make intellegent decisions on our votes.

Dan Gelber is by far the better candidate, vote for him, he will pursue the corruption that has over-taken Tallahassee.

The Jerry Brown ad posted on this blog last night shows that you can run a good ad without going to the gutter. There is no excuse for the trash going on in our state right now.
