Pay czar chose not to go after $1.6B in bank pay – Yahoo! News

The Obama administration's pay czar said Friday that he did not try to recoup $1.6 billion in lavish compensation to top executives at bailed-out banks because he thought shaming the banks was punishment enough.

Yes, such humiliation. How will they ever be able to look themselves in the mirrors of their Ferraris?

Is it fair, or appropriate, that Kenneth Feinberg, or any single person, be in charge of more than one impossibly difficult “steal back money the rich stole from the poor and give it back to the poor” programs?

I consider the bonuses the banks got like tips for any wait staff.

It seems to me that bad service deserves no tip, and bad management on the part of the banks deserve no bonus.

Why doesn’t anyone else see it that way?

If the “restaurant” predetermines a tip on the bill, and the service is poor, I would demand that the charge be removed.

So, if the bankers won’t give back the money they paid out in bonuses, why can’t an equilivant amount be “removed” from any future tranactions with the Federal Government?
