MoveOn Does Palin

MoveOn.org Political Action: Democracy in Action has lots to say, including these bullet points:

  • She was elected Alaska‘s governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage.1
  • Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.2
  • She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. 3
  • Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.4
  • She’s doesn’t think humans are the cause of climate change.5
  • She’s solidly in line with John McCain’s “Big Oil first” energy policy. She’s pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won’t be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.6

Although making predictions about politics may attract readers, you are not good at it. (See Bush will get killed in 2004). Also, historically over half of your political discussion cites/links are to wiki, dailykos, and people who blog from their mother’s basement. Please stick to writing primarily about legal issues.

I agree that I am not a great political prognosticator. Nor have I ever claimed to be; although I’d note that the professionals mostly have batting averages no better than mine. But in any case, most of what I write about politics is descriptive, or analytical, not predictive. Like, for example the above. Try as I might, I am not able to find a prediction in it. Where is it hiding?

PS. What do you have against basements?

  3. mac says:

At least michael isn’t afraid to make the occasional prediction and take a chance now and then. Much preferable to the many bloggers who play it tediously safe.

As for the Wiki and Kos diss – this is the internet, not Harvard. Maybe Mike would find surfing more rewarding as a member of a private internet club with entry fees and old boy reunions.

-I do generally enjoy your website (not because I agree with anything you say, but because you are intelligent.)

-As a conservative, the extensive amount of political stuff gets a bit old.

-I don’t have anything against basements.

“-As a conservative, the extensive amount of political stuff gets a bit old.”

“Political stuff” is not in line with conservativism?
