Wonderful Question

Bret Fausett has a great question at Lextext.com,

Someone came up with a new list of the seven man-made wonders of the world. Now, really, what's more wondrous? Some old buildings and statutes...or the Internet? The Internet wasn't even a finalist.

    And then there are the “women made” wonders of the world, which pretty much include every person on the planet :>)

    The Economist did something like this a few years ago. IIRC, the Internet was one of their top seven. Among the others: the 747, the credit card, the atom bomb, and the birth control pill.

    The internet or something like it was a foregone conclusion from the beginning of the era of mass communication
